Teamsters Local 401 members at PepsiCo in Pittston, Pa. voted overwhelmingly to ratify a record-breaking contract with their employer. The new five-year agreement includes average increases of 24 percent wage increases over the course of the contract, improved pension benefits, more paid time off, and a higher overtime rate.
“These workers demonstrated incredible resilience and tenacity during negotiations. They’ve raised standards not just for themselves, but for beverage workers everywhere,” said Scott Kucharski, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 401. “We see this as a win-win. Not only does this place our members at the top of the industry, but it also helps the company attract and retain quality employees.”
With the ratification of their most recent collective bargaining agreement, Local 401 members at Pepsi are now among the top-earning workers in the Wyoming Valley for all of their respective job classifications.
“This is a perfect example of what Teamsters can accomplish when we come together for the greater good and refuse to settle for anything less than what we deserve,” said Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference.
