The IAM Midwest Territory and District 77 celebrated a milestone this past Sunday with the 25th Annual Guide Dogs of America (GDA) Charity Golf Tournament, the “John Massetti Memorial,” in Minnesota.
Fifty-six golfers hit the course, raising more than $15,000 for the Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines. The day also featured over $5,000 in raffle prizes, thanks to generous contributions from supporters and sponsors.

This tournament holds a special place in the hearts of IAM members in Minnesota. The very first event was organized by the late John Massetti, a proud Local 1833 member. At the time, GDA’s fundraisers were mostly motorcycle runs, but Massetti, an avid golfer, saw an opportunity to bring members together on the course for a good cause.
Although Massetti passed away two decades ago, IAM District 77 and Local 1833 have kept his vision alive. Year after year, members, retirees, sponsors, and friends continue his mission to raise funds for GDA, which provides guide dogs and service dogs to people in need.
“I want to thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to come out and support Guide Dogs of America,” said IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Sam Cicinelli. “It’s because of the dedication and hard work of our members, our retirees, and our volunteers that this event continues to be such a success.”
“This tournament is more than just a day on the golf course,” said IAM District 77 Directing Business Representative Andrew Peltier. “It’s a powerful way to honor John Massetti’s legacy and make a real difference in the lives of those who rely on Guide Dogs of America. The commitment and generosity of everyone involved is truly inspiring.”
With 25 years of generosity and commitment, the John Massetti Memorial Golf Tournament continues to prove that when IAM members come together for a cause, they deliver results that change lives.
