The IAM’s EAP curriculum equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to assist members dealing with a wide range of issues, including addiction, alcoholism, depression, excessive debt, gambling addiction, acute stress disorder, violence prevention, suicide prevention, and other psycho-social concerns. The training also covers emerging issues, excessive absenteeism and presenteeism, and Mental Health First Aid, all critical tools for building healthier workplaces and stronger union communities.

Designed as a progressive program, the EAP curriculum takes members from an introduction to the field through advanced training and toward prospective certification. Graduates play a vital role not only in their workplaces but also throughout the IAM and the broader employee assistance community.

All eligible IAM Union members are strongly encouraged to participate and take advantage of this important opportunity to expand their skills while helping fellow members access the support they need.

Program dates and registration deadlines are available through the Retirees and Membership Assistance Department. For additional information or questions about the EAP II program, please contact the department at 301-967-4500.
