Hispanic Heritage Month Profiles: Manny Diaz

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, the AFL-CIO will be profiling leaders and activists to spotlight the diverse contributions Hispanics and Latinos have made to the labor movement. Today’s profile features Manny Diaz of the Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE).

“Getting my Local One card in 1992 and becoming a house electrician for the Shubert organization in 1999 have been my two greatest achievements,” Manny Diaz said. An IATSE member for more than 30 years, Diaz is a house electrician at the Imperial Theatre in New York and serves on IATSE Local One’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Social Justice; Emergency Protocol; Safety; and Broadway League Negotiation Committees.
