Lorie Wilson has been appointed by IAM International President Brian Bryant as Chief of Staff to the IAM Eastern Territory, effective Nov. 1, 2024.
“Lorie’s strong dedication to the members and impressive skillset have been incredibly valuable to the Eastern Territory,” IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President David Sullivan. “I know Lorie will excel in this new leadership role, supporting and directing Eastern Territory staff with her extensive experience in all areas of representation.”
Wilson initiated into IAM Local 993 in 1991 when she hired in as a Plastic Operator at OSRAM Sylvania. She advanced to a Plastics Quality Technician where she inspected plastic automotive components using a variety of sophisticated measuring devices.
She was elected as Vice President of Local 993 in 2002, and served as President of her Local from 2003 until 2014.
In 2014, Wilson became a Business Representative for District 65, responsible for organizing, negotiating, educating and servicing the membership at New York and Pennsylvania locals. She has represented members in the automotive, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.
Wilson was appointed to serve as an Education Representative at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in February 2020. During the shutdown of the school due to COVID, Wilson stepped in and assisted in the role of Business Representative for District 60 in Michigan.
In June 2021, Wilson was appointed as Special Representative to the Eastern Territory. She has been an active leader in the IAM’s Leadership Assembly for Dedicated Sisters (LEADS) Program.
Now, Wilson will help lead the Eastern Territory, overseeing staff and territory operations under General Vice President Sullivan.
