IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen continues to travel the country, making station visits to meet directly with IAM members. He recently joined IAM Air Transport Territory Chief of Staff Edison Fraser, and representatives from IAM District 141 and District 142 in Puerto Rico to assess the damage and provide the necessary resources members may need as they battle Hurricane Ernesto.
Hurricane Ernesto has dropped buckets of rain on Puerto Rico, knocking out power for nearly half of all residents.
“These visits are important to ensure the members know that their leadership has their back,” said Johnsen. “We are assessing the damage and determining, with the assistance of the Southern Territory and Districts 141 and 142, what is needed to help our members during and after this storm.”
International, District, and Local leadership made themselves available to answer questions and concerns from the membership.
“These visits are important,” said Fraser. “Our members must see us in the flesh to know we exist. We are here to help provide the necessary resources in the time of need and throughout their time working on the frontlines.”
