IAM International President Brian Bryant has announced the appointment of IAM Midwest Territory Grand Lodge Representative Tony Wickersham to serve as Aerospace Coordinator, effective Jan. 1, 2025.
“Tony is a union man down to his core,” said Bryant. “His dedication to representing IAM members is clear. He’s held many positions and gained valuable experience as a leader at all levels of our union, from his time in the shop all the way to being territory staff. He will bring priceless wisdom to this position.”
Wickersham, who currently holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s of business administration from the University of Phoenix, initiated into IAM Local 2069 (District 90) in 1996 while working in assembly at Schneider Electric in Peru, Ind.
“Our aerospace sector and membership will benefit greatly with Tony in this position,” said IAM Resident General Vice President Jody Bennett. “Tony will bring his substantial experience from years of representing IAM members and bargaining good contracts to this role in our flourishing aerospace sector.”
Wickersham served as Union Steward, Chief Steward, Bargaining and Grievance Committeeman, District and State Council Delegate, Convention Delegate, Trustee and Secretary-Treasurer before being elected as District 90 Secretary-Treasurer.
He also served as Secretary-Treasurer and President of the Indiana State Council of Machinists.
In 2007, District 90 elected Wickersham as Business Representative, and in 2010 as Assistant Directing Business Representative. He was then appointed as Directing Business Representative of District 90 in 2015.
Wickersham was also asked to serve as Vice President of the Indiana State AFL-CIO.
