I have been originating mortgages in Wisconsin since 1991, and early in my career I made the decision to ensure every customer I work with is educated about the home loan process, from start to finish, whether buying or refinancing. My job, as I see it, is not just “doing mortgages”, I see it as providing information, in a straight forward and easy to understand way to a potential customer so they can then use that information to determine which loan program best fits their individual needs. I personally do not enjoy being “sold” anything, but I don’t mind someone helping me purchase something I need … there is a huge difference. I am not here to “sell” anything to anyone, I AM here to help customers navigate through a lending process that can be a bit overwhelming at times. When a customer tells me “that was easy”…..that is one of the best compliments I can receive!
What I like the best about what I do is being allowed to help people with probably the largest purchase they will make in their lives. I develop a relationship, cause for me it’s all about the relationship with the people I work with. I am privileged in many cases to be able to work with them on second and subsequent purchases they may make, and many of my prior customers are now referring their children to me as well for mortgage assistance.
A little about me. I am a Wisconsin native, born and raised in Watertown. My wife, Mary and I, have been married since 1997, together we have 6 children and now we are adding grandchildren to the family! Family is very important to me and I try to spend as much time as I can with my wife, children and grandchildren.
I spent 4 years in the USAF stationed at the Pentagon in Washington DC. It was pretty cool to be 18 and be assigned to the Pentagon! But honestly, it sounds much more glamorous that it actually was….but none-the-less, a pretty cool experience for an 18 year old kid!
I have always been a Christian….in August 2003 I became a born again Christian and since then I have done numerous Mission trips to Constanza in the Dominican Republic and more recently to Haiti. My faith plays a big part in how I try to do my business and the way I interact with my customers.
In 2017 I was named “Best in Business: Loan Originator for 2017” by the Madison Chapter of the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association. I am with the Madison Group of Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, and primarily work out of our Sun Prairie Wisconsin office, however, I can originate loans anywhere in the State of Wisconsin.
For fun I enjoy working with my hands, as mentioned enjoying my grandchildren, bowling and more recently target archery.
