I was born and raised in Lancaster and my mother's parents, William and Mary Akin, settled here in 1923. My family has always been actively involved with and supportive of Lancaster and Fairfield County including the Unions. My mother Rosemary Hajost was a Lancaster City School Teacher for many years and later a Board Member and President. My father, Leonard Hajost, was the President of The Downtown Business Association for many years. My parents were always focused on trying to help make Lancaster and Fairfield County a better place for all of its residents and raised me with the same mindset and ideals.
