Company History
On October 8th, 1878, a group of 6 area farmers: Wilhelm Wiechert, Jacob Mahrtens and Heinrich Tambke (from the Stover area); and Claus Gerken, John Grother, and Jake Brunjes (from the Cole Camp/Lake Creek area) formed the Farmers Home Association of Morgan & Benton Counties. They wanted to be able to insure themselves against fire and lightning because this service was not readily available to them in such a rural area at that time.
The home office was originally located in Stover, MO but was moved to 206 W. Main St. in Cole Camp & opened on September 15th, 1986.
