IAM District 19 recently hosted an Advanced Local Chairman Program at the IAM’s William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Md.
“It’s good to see these Local Chairman attending this specialized educational program,” said Josh Hartford, IAM Special Assistant to the International President for the IAM Rail Division. “It will help them fine tune their skills and build new ones.”
The week-long class prioritized on individualized training, representation, and hearing preparation for arbitration. Winpsinger Center Educator Jon Irvine taught an internal organizing segment to help with member solidarity throughout our ranks.
This Local Chairman program has attracted participants from across the nation, representing both freight and passenger sectors. District 19 is committed to providing diverse education opportunities to empower and effectively represent and engage our union members.
