Approximately 67 IAM members from across the United States and Canada recently participated in the Leadership I training at the IAM’s William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Md. IAM members learned the skills and duties necessary to be good Local Lodge officers and/or active members.
The program is the first of three designed for Local Lodge leadership. The members explore the fundamentals of trade unionism and the basic laws and operation of the IAM through the following topics: Labor History, Parliamentary Procedure and Lodge Administration, Structure and Services of the IAM, Government and Politics, Role of the Steward, and Human Rights.
