Washington, D.C. – The National Academy of Public Administration announced 42 new inductions for the 2024 Class of Academy Fellows, including Steve Lenkart, Executive Director of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM). Lenkart was elected to the permanent position of Academy Fellow by a majority of the voting body of fellows who considered his professional contributions as a federal senior executive, labor leader, and workforce policy expert, including formerly serving as the executive director of the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board.
“The 2024 class of Academy Fellows reflects a wide range of professional experience, including dedicated civil servants and accomplished academics,” said Terry Gerton, President and CEO of the Academy. “These 42 leaders will be an enormous asset to the Academy in the years ahead, and we look forward to working with all of them to help create a bright future for our country.”
The Academy is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization chartered by Congress in 1967 to provide expert advice to government leaders on a variety of important subjects. The 2024 class joins nearly 1,000 current Academy Fellows, including former cabinet officers, members of Congress, governors, mayors, and state legislators, as well as prominent scholars, executives, nonprofit leaders, and more.
