(ORANGE, Conn.) – A group of 35 drivers, service technicians, and merchandizers at Northeast Beverage Corporation in Orange, Conn., overwhelmingly voted to join Teamsters Local 443. The workers voted for strong union representation to secure increased pay, better benefits, and safer working conditions.
“These members are a united group that have shown incredible strength and commitment to one another,” said Sal Abate, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 443. “We will stand shoulder to shoulder with them to fight for the best contract possible, and we are proud to welcome these new Teamsters brothers and sisters into our family.”
“Congratulations to these workers on their hard-fought campaign to join the Teamsters,” said Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference. “This group overcame illegal union busting tactics to win a decisive victory. We look forward to helping this group secure a strong Teamsters contract that reflects their contributions to the company.”
