Today’s profile is Valerie Matsunaga of SAG-AFTRA.
Pharmacist, educator and SAG-AFTRA Hawaii Local board member Valerie Matsunaga represents labor history in action—advancing worker voice in health care and the arts. Through servant leadership at Kahului Union Church, Maui County Sister Cities Foundation and the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center, she models faith-based service. A USA Weightlifting Masters competitor at the local, national and international levels, she embodies resilience—physical and professional—demonstrating that disciplined perseverance sustains community, career and life.
