Hispanic Heritage Month Profiles: Omar F. Algeciras

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, the AFL-CIO will be profiling leaders and activists to spotlight the diverse contributions Hispanics and Latinos have made to the labor movement. Today’s profile features Omar F. Algeciras of AFGE.

Omar F. Algeciras is a 21-year Air Force veteran, federal employee and union leader who has dedicated his career to protecting working people and strengthening the labor movement. Through his leadership with AFGE and the Pima Area Labor Federation in Arizona, Algeciras advocates for federal employees, supports workplace rights, develops union members, and builds stronger connections between organized labor and the community. His work reflects a lasting commitment to public service and working families.
