(FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) – More than 500 drivers and warehouse workers at CVS’s distribution center in Fredericksburg, Va., have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. The workers, represented by Teamsters Local 592, are demanding a fair agreement and rejecting CVS’s concessionary demands. The current contract expires on April 30.  “If CVS keeps pushing concessions and refusing to take bargaining seriously, we will be forced on the picket line May 1,” said Chris Donald, a 38-year warehouse worker and member of Local 592. “No one wants a strike, but if the company comes after our hard-earned benefits, we will have no choice but to fight back.”  CVS is the largest retail pharmacy chain in the United States and posted $402.1 billion in revenue in 2025, with nearly $1.8 billion in profits. Despite its massive wealth, the company is demanding cuts to affordable health care and other core benefits.  “It is outrageous for a company built on health care to try to gut workers’ health coverage,” said Jim Smith, President of Local 592. “CVS is choosing greed over its workforce. We will not accept a concessionary contract, and we will fight to protect every benefit our members have earned.”  The Teamsters represent thousands of CVS workers nationwide. Last year, following a credible strike threat, more than 900 Teamsters at a CVS distribution center in La Habra, Calif., secured a strong new contract with major wage increases, higher pension contributions, and fully protected benefits.  Local 592 members are demanding the same standards won by other CVS Teamsters across the country. The group supplies CVS stores across the Mid-Atlantic, including Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. (SPRINGFIELD, Ill.) – Illinois Teamsters and the Labor Alliance for Public Transportation (LAPT) announced a new partnership to stop the Autonomous Vehicle Pilot Project Act (IL SB3392/HB5103). The legislation, which is being backed by Big Tech companies like Waymo, would harm middle-class jobs and jeopardize motorist safety by allowing Autonomous Vehicle (AV) companies to unleash untested and dangerous products on Illinois roads within the next three years. “Autonomous vehicles are bad for workers and communities,” said Tom Stiede, President of Teamsters Joint Council 25. “That’s why elected officials in Springfield need to kill the AV Pilot Project Act.” Polling of Illinois voters shows that they overwhelmingly oppose fully driverless cars and trucks operating on the state’s roads. “The question for lawmakers is simple: are you going to protect good, family-sustaining jobs, or are you going to replace them with machines?” said Chris Duncan, a Local 727 member and driver for Keurig Dr Pepper. “For working people, this isn’t abstract. (BEDFORD PARK, Ill.) – Over 130 workers at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) have voted for union representation with Teamsters Local 781. The print and production workers left the sham Printing Packaging and Production Workers Union (PPPWU) to gain higher wages, better benefits, and a real voice on the job. “We joined the Teamsters because we knew no other union could deliver the protections we’ve long needed. We saw other graphics workers win strong contracts by becoming the Teamsters, and we wanted the same,” said Carlos Maldonado, a PCA worker and new member of Local 781. “The PPPWU never delivered for us. They were only in it for themselves. As Teamsters, we will win a strong contract that ensures fair treatment and compensation that reflects our hard work.” In a failed attempt to stop the group from joining the Teamsters, the PPPWU desperately tried to intimidate workers and delay the organizing process. These efforts backfired, fueling worker militancy. “It feels great to finally have a real union in our corner fighting for us no matter what,” said Melquiades Manriquez-Ortega, a PCA worker and new member of Local 781. “The Teamsters had our backs throughout the entire process, even when the PPPWU tried to stop us. Seeing the professionalism of the Teamsters has been such a relief after dealing with the pathetic PPPWU for so long.” Headquartered in Lake Forest, Ill., under 50 miles from the Bedford Park facility, PCA is one of the largest producers of containerboard and packaging in North America. The company is worth nearly $20 billion, and its workers generated roughly $9 billion in revenue last year. “These new Teamsters put up with a lot as they courageously fought to join our union. (SAN FRANCISCO) – Five members of Teamsters Local 665 have won a court decision determining their firing from AAA in 2021 was unlawful and the company owes them up to an estimated $1 million in compensation and back pay. The five Teamsters — who were outspoken in their support of the union — were wrongfully terminated in retaliation for exercising their rights. “This was more than just a legal victory. It was validation, justice, and a reminder that standing up for what is right matters,” said Priscilla Gaines-Holladay, a P&C agent at AAA in Stockton. “This decision sends a clear message that workers cannot be silenced or retaliated against for standing together. I am grateful to Local 665 for their unwavering support.” “It's been a long five years of outrageous conduct by AAA and this decision was a huge boost to the agents’ spirits,” said Tom Woods, Local 665 business agent. “Making the call to the unlawfully terminated workers to tell them they will be reinstated with full back pay was one of the most exciting things I've ever done professionally. We’re very hopeful that the company will return to the bargaining table and agree to a fair contract that respects the agents’ rights.”  The court determined that AAA must offer the workers job reinstatement and make each of them whole for any loss of earnings and other benefits. (ASHTABULA, Ohio) – Members of Teamsters Local 377 at INEOS in Ashtabula have been forced to strike over the company’s failure to bargain in good faith. The union has met with INEOS management numerous times, but the company has refused to negotiate a fair contract. "INEOS is just going through the motions,” said Steven Anzevino, President of Local 377. “They show up to the table not to negotiate, but to stall, offering nothing but insulting proposals in a classic display of surface bargaining. By reneging on our 2022 agreement, they’ve shown they aren't serious. We aren't here for games; we’re here to secure a contract that finally respects the hard work these members put in every day."  The 43 Teamsters are on strike alongside 66 chemical workers, represented by International Chemical Workers Union Council (ICWUC) Local 1033C, with whom they have a joint collective bargaining agreement. “We remain concerned that the company’s approach at the bargaining table has not reflected a genuine effort to reach an agreement,” said Kyle Painter, a five-year warehouse worker at INEOS. “Our hard work should be recognized, and we deserve a bargaining process grounded in good-faith negotiations. (NEW YORK) – Amazon Teamsters and their allies rallied at city hall today in support of the Delivery Protection Act, later testifying in favor of the bill before the New York City Council Committee on Consumer and Worker Protection. The landmark legislation, introduced by Councilmember Tiffany Cabán, would outlaw Amazon’s controversial Delivery Service Partner (DSP) model across the five boroughs. “For too long, Amazon has posed an existential threat to the safety of its workers and our neighborhoods,” said Thomas Gesualdi, President of Teamsters Joint Council 16. “This company is using every trick in the book to try to kill the Delivery Protection Act, but there is nothing they can do to stop the Teamsters.” Amazon uses a network of third-party contractors known as DSPs to control workers and avoid legal responsibility for last-mile operations. This model creates dangerous conditions for DSP workers and communities alike. Last year, the New York City Comptroller’s office found that injury rates at last-mile delivery facilities in the city are more than triple the national average for private employers, a staggering figure driven in large part by Amazon’s operations. “Amazon Teamsters generate billions for this company in New York City alone, yet they face the most dangerous working conditions in the industry,” said Randy Korgan, Director of the Teamsters Amazon Division. “Amazon has proven it does not care about the safety of its workers or the communities they deliver to or taking accountability and responsibility for the Amazon Drivers that wear their brand. The Delivery Protection Act is the only way to hold Amazon accountable in New York City.” The Delivery Protection Act was reintroduced earlier this year and quickly secured majority support in the city council after an intense lobbying campaign led by rank-and-file Amazon Teamsters and their allies. “This bill is supported by a diverse and massive coalition of DSP drivers just like me. (WASHINGTON) – After months of urging United Parcel Service (UPS) to honor its Teamsters contract and return to the bargaining table over unilateral driver buyouts, UPS on Sunday agreed to terms on a new settlement with the Teamsters National Negotiating Committee — capping severance offers while rewarding and protecting the seniority of Teamsters drivers. Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien successfully pushed UPS into negotiations in the wake of national grievances filed against the package giant over its Driver Choice Program (DCP), which UPS pursued in February without agreement from the union. Those grievances forced UPS to withdraw the DCP in 13 states in March before ultimately agreeing to negotiate. Under terms of the strong new settlement, UPS will be limited in the number of severance packages it can offer. Those who wish to accept them will receive $150,000 payments for early retirement. Offers will be made to long-haul feeder drivers and Regular Package Car Drivers based on seniority in all regions of the country. UPS has agreed not to pursue or offer any other severance programs for the life of the current Teamsters National Master Agreement, which does not expire until July 31, 2028. “UPS never had the contractual right to unilaterally offer driver buyouts, but with enough pressure and member solidarity UPS finally did the right thing by putting its commitments to hardworking Teamsters down in writing,” O’Brien said. “Lifelong Teamsters who have given so much of themselves to making UPS the king of parcel delivery will have the right of first refusal on any severance agreements. Union seniority and the rights of all our members will be honored. UPS will no longer have the chance to go around the union without giving Teamsters the respect they deserve at the bargaining table.” The settlement between the Teamsters and UPS caps the total number of severance payments to 7,500 drivers across all job classifications nationwide. “Rank-and-file Teamsters have given their blood, sweat, tears and, most importantly, their labor to ensure UPS’s success for a century. This agreement is a powerful reminder to UPS executives that the Teamsters never want to harm the company’s ability to be competitive, but we will also never tolerate any violations of our contract or our members’ rights,” O’Brien said. (WASHINGTON) – In a historic decision, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has ruled that Amazon illegally refused to recognize the Staten Island-based Amazon Labor Union-International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 1 (ALU-IBT 1) and ordered it to begin negotiations with the Teamsters. "Four years ago, Amazon workers at JFK8 won an NLRB election. Now, on this monumental anniversary, they have become the first group ever to force the company to recognize their union, and they did so as Teamsters,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “This fight is far from over but this ruling from the NLRB is an historic victory for Amazon Teamsters nationwide and a testament to worker power.” Over 5,000 warehouse workers at the JFK8 facility in Staten Island formed their union on April 1, 2022. In June 2024, they officially affiliated with the Teamsters Union, which officially chartered ALU-IBT Local 1. Over the past four years, NLRB has repeatedly found that Amazon has illegally and willfully ignored the union’s legitimacy while attempting to coerce JFK8 Teamsters into ending their organizing efforts. “Amazon’s strategy these last few years has been to delay, delay, delay – and the NLRB confirmed it because the law is not on their side,” said Randy Korgan, Director of the Teamsters Amazon Division. “Amazon Teamsters know that this company will try to do anything it can to worm out of its responsibilities. The Teamsters will continue to build worker power at Amazon and hold the company accountable wherever it violates the law.” Amazon is also required to post notice of the NLRB’s ruling in a visible location for workers at the JFK8 facility informing them of their rights to unionize. With this ruling, Amazon has exhausted its options to appeal to the NLRB on the issue of unionization Teamsters at the facility.
