The American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO, and the U.S. Postal Service reached a Tentative Agreement for the Information Technology/Accounting Services (IT/AS) bargaining unit on April 30 2026, announced Support Services Director, and lead negotiator, Kim Maurer. The agreement will be a 5-year term ending May 2030, with pay increases, protected COLA and a continued no-layoff clause.

“This marks an important step forward and reflects a genuine effort from everyone involved to find common ground.  The process required patience, compromise, and open dialogue, and I believe the outcome demonstrates a shared commitment to moving in a positive direction,” stated Director Maurer.

The full terms of the agreement will be formatted and sent to the membership for review and a ratification vote. As the ratification packets are sent out, virtual town hall meetings will be scheduled where members can participate, hear the details of the agreement, and ask questions.
