Laid-Off Workers from Apple, Whirlpool and Spirit Airlines to Share Firsthand Accounts of Corporate Greed

WASHINGTON, June 18, 2026 — On Monday, June 22, the IAM Union (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) will join U.S. Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), as well as working people from across the country for the Workers vs. Billionaires rally on Capitol Hill.

Other U.S. senators will join IAM Union International President Brian Bryant, Sens. Sanders, Van Hollen, and IAM members speaking out about what it’s like to fight corporate greed on the job, including laid-off workers from Apple, Whirlpool, and Spirit Airlines. 

During the rally, the IAM Union will announce its endorsement of the Make Billionaires Pay Their Fair Share Act, introduced by Sanders and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.).

The rally comes as IAM Union members from every territory and district gather in Washington for the IAM Union Legislative Conference, standing together to tell Congress: It’s time to put workers before billionaires.
