Working people across the United States regularly step up to help out our friends, neighbors and communities during these trying times. In our Service & Solidarity Spotlight series, we’ll showcase one of these stories every day. Here’s today’s story.

The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) have jointly announced that they have reached the first collective bargaining agreement covering Dayton Ballet dancers.

The newly ratified three-year contract establishes a more consistent compensation structure for dancers while ensuring 29 weeks of work, expanded leave, short-term disability benefits, a guaranteed 4% retirement contribution match, improved scheduling provisions and much more.

“Announcing our first union contract is an incredible milestone for the Dayton Ballet dancers,” said the Dancers of the AGMA Negotiating Committee. “This agreement reflects the strength of standing together and our steadfast commitment to building a stronger future for ourselves and for all who come after us. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”
