Service & Solidarity Spotlight: SAG-AFTRA Members Ratify New TV Animation Contracts

Working people across the United States regularly step up to help out our friends, neighbors and communities during these trying times. In our Service & Solidarity Spotlight series, we’ll showcase one of these stories every day. Here’s today’s story.

Members of SAG-AFTRA last week overwhelmingly ratified the 2026 Television Animation Agreement and the 2026 Basic Cable Animation Agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Highlights of the contracts include enhanced guardrails around the use of artificial intelligence (AI), a 12.6% wage increase, improvements to the health plan and pension and retirement plans, and more.

“As someone who often works in TV animation, my heartfelt thanks goes out to the TV Animation Negotiating Committee and co-chairs Bob Bergen and David Jolliffe for putting in the time and effort to get SAG-AFTRA members a dignified deal with essential AI protections,” said SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin.

“SAG-AFTRA members who work in TV Animation are entitled to meaningful protections around AI and wages that reflect the value of their labor,” said National Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.
