Teamsters Statement on Nestlé’s Anti-Worker Agenda
(WASHINGTON) – The following is a statement from Jesse Case, Director of the Teamsters Food Processing Division, regarding Nestlé’s failure to respect workers’ union rights:
“Nestlé is actively engaging in union-busting at facilities where workers with Teamsters Local 238 are fighting for a voice on the job — a direct contradiction of the company’s own global commitments to respect the right to organize.
“Around the world, Nestlé claims to uphold policies that protect workers’ freedom to form and join unions without interference. But in the United States, the company is doing the opposite — deploying pressure tactics, stalling organizing efforts, and denying workers a fair process.
“They market themselves as a global leader in human rights and corporate responsibility, but behind the branding and polished reports is a very different reality. For workers in America, Nestlé has created a double standard — neutrality abroad, union-busting at home.
“You can’t claim to support human rights globally while undermining them in your own facilities. Nestlé’s commitments mean nothing if they refuse to honor the basic principles of freedom of association and collective bargaining in the United States.
“The Teamsters are calling on Nestlé to immediately end all anti-union activity and adopt true neutrality and card check recognition nationwide. Workers deserve the right to decide their future free from coercion, intimidation, or delay.
“If Nestlé continues to ignore its workforce and hide behind its carefully crafted public image, it will be forced to answer for that hypocrisy. Teamsters across North America are prepared to take coordinated action to expose the gap between what Nestlé says and what it does.”

Missouri Red Cross Workers Join Teamsters
(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) – Collections workers at American Red Cross in Jefferson City have voted to join Teamsters Local 833 to secure strong union representation and a voice on the job. By choosing to organize with the Teamsters, these health care workers became immediately covered by the Teamsters’ National Master Agreement with American Red Cross that was ratified in 2024.
“American Red Cross workers know that they get more as Teamsters,” said Matt Hall, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 833. “Now, these Jefferson City workers will get to enjoy the benefits and protections hundreds of their Red Cross brothers and sisters have fought for. We could not be prouder of the solidarity they showed during this process.”
The Teamsters Union represents more than 1,800 American Red Cross workers across the country all covered by the National Master Agreement which includes increased wages, paid time off, flexible family leave and scheduling policies, as well as high safety and health standards.
“Being a part of the Teamsters is very exciting for me and my co-workers,” said Fanci Bennett, a collections specialist at American Red Cross. “We might be a small group but now we have the backing of 1.3 million of our brothers and sisters across the nation, including thousands in the state of Missouri.”

Indio City Workers Join Teamsters
(INDIO, Calif.) – Administrative, public works, and street workers in the City of Indio have voted to join Teamsters Local 1932. The new members organized for improved workplace protections, fair wages, and a strong voice on the job.
The newly organized workers span multiple departments and play a vital role in delivering essential public services to the residents of Indio.
“This vote sends a clear message: workers in Indio are ready to stand together and have a real voice on the job,” said Randy Korgan, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 1932. “We are proud to welcome these dedicated public servants into our union family and look forward to fighting alongside them for the respect and protections they deserve.”
The addition of Indio City workers continues a trend of growing unionization among public sector workers throughout the region, as workers seek stability, fairness, and accountability in the workplace. Local 1932 is moving the needle of union density throughout Southern California, specifically the desert region and Coachella Valley.
“Joining Local 1932 means we finally have a unified voice,” said Debbie Granger, an administrative assistant for the City of Indio. “We care deeply about the work we do for our community, and now we have the support and representation to make sure our voices are heard and our contributions are valued.”
Teamsters Local 1932 represents over 16,000 workers in the Inland Empire and continues to expand its reach as more workers organize for dignity, respect, and fairness on the job. For more information, go to teamsters1932.org.

CVS Teamsters Authorize Strike
(FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) – More than 500 drivers and warehouse workers at CVS’s distribution center in Fredericksburg, Va., have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. The workers, represented by Teamsters Local 592, are demanding a fair agreement and rejecting CVS’s concessionary demands. The current contract expires on April 30.
“If CVS keeps pushing concessions and refusing to take bargaining seriously, we will be forced on the picket line May 1,” said Chris Donald, a 38-year warehouse worker and member of Local 592. “No one wants a strike, but if the company comes after our hard-earned benefits, we will have no choice but to fight back.”
CVS is the largest retail pharmacy chain in the United States and posted $402.1 billion in revenue in 2025, with nearly $1.8 billion in profits. Despite its massive wealth, the company is demanding cuts to affordable health care and other core benefits.
“It is outrageous for a company built on health care to try to gut workers’ health coverage,” said Jim Smith, President of Local 592. “CVS is choosing greed over its workforce. We will not accept a concessionary contract, and we will fight to protect every benefit our members have earned.”
The Teamsters represent thousands of CVS workers nationwide. Last year, following a credible strike threat, more than 900 Teamsters at a CVS distribution center in La Habra, Calif., secured a strong new contract with major wage increases, higher pension contributions, and fully protected benefits.
Local 592 members are demanding the same standards won by other CVS Teamsters across the country. The group supplies CVS stores across the Mid-Atlantic, including Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. A strike would disrupt operations across the region.
“CVS needs to understand that this union will not allow concessions from a company this profitable,” said Tom Erickson, Director of the Teamsters Warehouse Division. “If CVS keeps heading down this path, they will face the full force of the Teamsters Union. Our members are ready.”

Illinois Teamsters Demand Lawmakers Reject Anti-Worker Waymo Bill
(SPRINGFIELD, Ill.) – Illinois Teamsters and the Labor Alliance for Public Transportation (LAPT) announced a new partnership to stop the Autonomous Vehicle Pilot Project Act (IL SB3392/HB5103).
The legislation, which is being backed by Big Tech companies like Waymo, would harm middle-class jobs and jeopardize motorist safety by allowing Autonomous Vehicle (AV) companies to unleash untested and dangerous products on Illinois roads within the next three years.
“Autonomous vehicles are bad for workers and communities,” said Tom Stiede, President of Teamsters Joint Council 25. “That’s why elected officials in Springfield need to kill the AV Pilot Project Act.”
Polling of Illinois voters shows that they overwhelmingly oppose fully driverless cars and trucks operating on the state’s roads.
“The question for lawmakers is simple: are you going to protect good, family-sustaining jobs, or are you going to replace them with machines?” said Chris Duncan, a Local 727 member and driver for Keurig Dr Pepper. “For working people, this isn’t abstract. This fight is for our livelihoods and our families.”
This is the coalition’s second initiative, following last year’s success in saving Illinois’ public transit system. In recent months, multiple states have cancelled or postponed plans to expand AV legalization, including Minnesota, New York, Virginia, Washington, and Washington, D.C.
Teamsters Joint Council 25 represents more than 125,000 hardworking men and women throughout Illinois and northwest Indiana. For more information, go to teamstersjc25.com.

PCA Workers Join Teamsters
(BEDFORD PARK, Ill.) – Over 130 workers at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) have voted for union representation with Teamsters Local 781. The print and production workers left the sham Printing Packaging and Production Workers Union (PPPWU) to gain higher wages, better benefits, and a real voice on the job.
“We joined the Teamsters because we knew no other union could deliver the protections we’ve long needed. We saw other graphics workers win strong contracts by becoming the Teamsters, and we wanted the same,” said Carlos Maldonado, a PCA worker and new member of Local 781. “The PPPWU never delivered for us. They were only in it for themselves. As Teamsters, we will win a strong contract that ensures fair treatment and compensation that reflects our hard work.”
In a failed attempt to stop the group from joining the Teamsters, the PPPWU desperately tried to intimidate workers and delay the organizing process. These efforts backfired, fueling worker militancy.
“It feels great to finally have a real union in our corner fighting for us no matter what,” said Melquiades Manriquez-Ortega, a PCA worker and new member of Local 781. “The Teamsters had our backs throughout the entire process, even when the PPPWU tried to stop us. Seeing the professionalism of the Teamsters has been such a relief after dealing with the pathetic PPPWU for so long.”
Headquartered in Lake Forest, Ill., under 50 miles from the Bedford Park facility, PCA is one of the largest producers of containerboard and packaging in North America. The company is worth nearly $20 billion, and its workers generated roughly $9 billion in revenue last year.
“These new Teamsters put up with a lot as they courageously fought to join our union. They not only had to fight against a company but also the PPPWU, which shamelessly tried to scare them out of demanding the strong union representation they deserve,” said Paul Stripling, President of Local 781. “Our new brothers and sisters did not break or bend. We’re proud to give them a strong union voice.”
Teamsters Local 781 represents thousands of workers from a range of industries including printing and packaging, airline, and warehouse. For more information, go to Teamsters781.org.

San Francisco Teamsters Win $5 Million in Court Decision Against AAA
(SAN FRANCISCO) – Five members of Teamsters Local 665 have won a court decision determining their firing from AAA in 2021 was unlawful and the company owes them up to an estimated $1 million in compensation and back pay. The five Teamsters — who were outspoken in their support of the union — were wrongfully terminated in retaliation for exercising their rights.
“This was more than just a legal victory. It was validation, justice, and a reminder that standing up for what is right matters,” said Priscilla Gaines-Holladay, a P&C agent at AAA in Stockton. “This decision sends a clear message that workers cannot be silenced or retaliated against for standing together. I am grateful to Local 665 for their unwavering support.”
“It’s been a long five years of outrageous conduct by AAA and this decision was a huge boost to the agents’ spirits,” said Tom Woods, Local 665 business agent. “Making the call to the unlawfully terminated workers to tell them they will be reinstated with full back pay was one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done professionally. We’re very hopeful that the company will return to the bargaining table and agree to a fair contract that respects the agents’ rights.”
The court determined that AAA must offer the workers job reinstatement and make each of them whole for any loss of earnings and other benefits. AAA must also compensate each worker for their search for work, interim employment expenses, and for the adverse tax consequences, if any, of receiving one or more lump-sum backpay awards.
“This is a great victory for not just these five AAA Teamsters, but all 350 members of this unit,” said Tony Delorio, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 665. “The process was long, but they remained strong and showed us what solidarity is all about. We have three more of these cases in trial, and we look forward to replicating these victories.”
Teamsters Local 665 represents over 5,000 members throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. For more information, go to teamsters665.org.

INEOS Teamsters in Ohio Launch Strike
(ASHTABULA, Ohio) – Members of Teamsters Local 377 at INEOS in Ashtabula have been forced to strike over the company’s failure to bargain in good faith. The union has met with INEOS management numerous times, but the company has refused to negotiate a fair contract.
“INEOS is just going through the motions,” said Steven Anzevino, President of Local 377. “They show up to the table not to negotiate, but to stall, offering nothing but insulting proposals in a classic display of surface bargaining. By reneging on our 2022 agreement, they’ve shown they aren’t serious. We aren’t here for games; we’re here to secure a contract that finally respects the hard work these members put in every day.”
The 43 Teamsters are on strike alongside 66 chemical workers, represented by International Chemical Workers Union Council (ICWUC) Local 1033C, with whom they have a joint collective bargaining agreement.
“We remain concerned that the company’s approach at the bargaining table has not reflected a genuine effort to reach an agreement,” said Kyle Painter, a five-year warehouse worker at INEOS. “Our hard work should be recognized, and we deserve a bargaining process grounded in good-faith negotiations. We will remain on the picket line until a fair agreement is reached.”Teamsters Local 377 represents workers in a wide variety of industries throughout Northeastern Ohio.

(LA VERNE, Calif.) – More than 50 workers in the City of La Verne have voted to join Teamsters Local 1932. The new members organized for stronger workplace protections, fair wages, and a voice on the job.
“This victory shows that workers across the Inland Empire are standing up and demanding more,” said Randy Korgan, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 1932. “The workers in the City of La Verne provide vital services every single day, and now they will have the representation they deserve to ensure their voices are heard and respected.”
The newly organized group includes essential city workers who play a critical role in maintaining public services and infrastructure for the La Verne community.
“We all do the work that helps the city run, and we all wanted to have a better representation for our future,” said Eugene Perez, a utility worker with the City of La Verne. “Joining Teamsters Local 1932 means we’re coming together to support each other and build better working conditions for everyone.”

B&G Foods Teamsters Ratify Strong Contract
(STOUGHTON, Wis.) – Members of Teamsters Local 120 at B&G Foods in Stoughton, Wis., have overwhelmingly ratified a strong new contract just weeks after authorizing a strike. The three-year agreement delivers a 19 percent wage increase, maintains high quality health care, and improves working conditions.
“This agreement is a major victory for our members who stood strong and stayed unified throughout negotiations,” said Shaun Mullikin, business agent with Teamsters Local 120. “Workers at B&G Foods made it clear they deserved fair pay, strong benefits, and respect on the job. Just as important, they protected the health care they rely on. This contract delivers and sets a strong foundation moving forward.”
